Camila Alves reveals Lance Armstrong was the key to finding love with Matthew McConaughey

Actor Matthew McConaughey, 42, and Brazilian model Camila Alves, 30, probably feel like they’ve been together forever as the parents of two children with a third on the way and a recent wedding under their belts. But if not for a chance meeting at a Los Angeles hot spot back in 2007, none of it would have ever happened.

“We met at a bar, at [West Hollywood lounge] Hyde.” Alves shared with “Access Hollywood” on Wednesday. "We had two interactions at the bar. The first time, the first interaction, I did not know who he was. It was the time he had a really long beard, and he had this rasta hat. He was all covered up, and I didn't really realize who he was."

It was McConaughey’s good friend Lance Armstrong who gave it away. “Lance came to talk to me and it was at a time when you knew they were always together. So I was like OK, I’m outta’ here. I’m going to the other side of the room.”

Five years later, it’s clear she did make it to the other side of the room, since the couple has been together ever since. Alves gave birth to their first child, Levi, in 2008 and daughter Vida followed in early 2010. This year also marked a big milestone for the couple, who got married in McConaughey’s home state of Texas in June and then, in July, announced they were expecting baby number three.

“We’ve been talking about this for a while. After having two back to back it takes you a while to get out of the cloud, and to feel normal again, and to think straight, everything,” Alves told “Access Hollywood.” “Just really trying to figure things out and I was really trying to push it back as much as I could, but it was time. This baby was ready to come.”
