Maria Menounos: I Was Sexually Abused By Two Doctors
Maria, 34, dropped a personal bombshell on Howard Stern’s radio show June 11. The ‘Extra’ host admitted to being molested by not one, but two different doctors.
Maria Menounos has a fear of doctors — and for good reason. Today she admitted that a few years ago, during a throat exam, she was asked to change into a hospital gown. Soon after, the doctor started touching her genitals.
“I was really young, so I was uncomfortable,” Maria revealed. “[My boyfriend] Kevin was in the waiting room and I literally started screaming . . . I was just so uncomfortable I didn’t know what to do.”
Instead of pressing charges, Maria decided to keep quiet in an effort to forget the incident and move on with her life.
She also spoke about another incident where a male gynecologist commented on and then started touching her belly button ring. She now insists her boyfriend joins her in the exam room for every appointment, no matter the doctor or the appointment.
