Niecy Nash

Nothing is as difficult as losing a loved one, though we're sure the situation is exponentially more painful when the loved one is murdered. Actress Niecy Nash knows that pain all too well: Her brother was murdered in 1993.

What's worse? Robert Lee Heard, the man who murdered her brother, was just arrested again for killing his new wife.

"I am deeply saddened to hear that the man who murdered my brother, Michael Ensley, has been charged with murder again," Nash told E! New in a statement. "I grieve for every family who has been victimized by this heinous individual. My prayers and love go out to the family of Demetra Doyle Heard during this trying time."

Sadly, she's not the first celebrity to be affected by murder.

Jennifer Hudson

Jennifer Hudson was flying high with her Oscar win and growing career when her estranged brother-in-law killed her mother, brother and nephew back in 2008. William Balfour was eventually convicted of the crimes and is now serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole.

The singer has every reason to be angry with Balfour and his actions, but she recently told Oprah that she's forgiven him for his heinous actions.

A lot of things came out [during the trial] that we didn't even know about from his upbringing. . . He never had a chance. He never had a chance," Hudson said. "Had he had the love that my mother gave us, or the background that some have, then he would have stood a chance. How could your heart not go out to that?"

Serena Williams and Venus Williams

Tennis champions Serena and Venus Williams were devastated when their older sister, Yetunde Price, was gunned down in Compton, Calif. in 2003.

"As the oldest sibling and daughter, it was Yetunde who provided the stability to our family," the Williams family said at the time. "She was our nucleus and our rock. She was personal assistant, confidant, and adviser to her sisters and her death leaves a void that can never be filled."

Two men were later arrested for the crime.

Dylan McDermott

Former "American Horror Story" actor Dylan McDermott was just a child when his mother, Diane McDermott, was murdered in 1967. Her now-deceased boyfriend was assumed as the killer, but last year the actor asked Waterbury, Conn. police to reopen the case.

"He said, 'in order for me to survive and to get where I am today, I needed to bury that moment in my life deep within myself,'" Mayor Neil M. O'Leary told the Associated Press earlier this summer. "He said, 'it wasn't until recently that I've come to the point in my life where I'm able to begin to process all of this and make it part of his life.'"
