Lindsay Lohan Gets Probation Revoked, Faces 8 Months in Jail

Despite years of brushes with the law, troubled starlet Lindsay Lohan has managed to avoid any real jail time. Finally, it seems, her luck may have run out and she might actually be sentenced to some time in the slammer. On Wednesday morning, a Los Angeles judge revoked the 26-year-old’s probation and scheduled a hearing for next month, when the actress could be sentenced to up to 245 days in jail, according to TMZ. Lohan wasn’t present at the Wednesday hearing, where she was arraigned on charges that she was driving recklessly when she crashed a rented Porsche in Santa Monica, California, in June and lied to police, claiming that her assistant had been driving.

The potential eight months in prison would only come into play if the judge decides the “Liz and Dick” star violated her probation, which stems from a misdemeanor grand theft charge after she allegedly stole a necklace from a high-end jewelry store in Venice, California, last year. Her most recent legal entanglement, however, occurred just last month when she was arrested in New York City and charged with assault for allegedly punching a woman in the face at a nightclub. In the last few months she’s also been involved in a hit and run (charges were later dropped), a fight with a man in her hotel room (charges against him were later dropped), and a domestic dispute with her mother, Dina Lohan, in which Lindsay alleged that the 50-year-old was high on cocaine (no charges were filed). Lindsay later said she lied about her mother's drug use.

There’s still a good chance the actress will get off next month without having to go behind bars. A source familiar with the judge on Lohan’s case, Commissioner Jane Godfrey, told TMZ that “Godfrey is not a big jail person.”

What a coincidence. Neither is Lohan!
