Leonardo DiCaprio remains one of the most intriguing actors of our time.

It was just announced that one of the greatest actors of our time, Leonardo DiCaprio, is up for the 2012 Screen Actors Guild Award as best actor for his work in 'J. Edgar.' He faces stiff competition from none other than his peers, George Clooney, 'The Descendants' and Brad Pitt, 'Moneyball,' among others. The SAG awards will be handed out on January 29, 2011, but perhaps DiCaprio is far too busy to think about the awards ceremony right now.

DiCaprio and "Vinny Chase" - Green Buddies

One of Leo's best friends is 'Entourage' star Adrian Grenier, who has joined him for years as champions of environmental issues. Both men were among the first celebs to drive electric/hybrid cars around Hollywood, and together, they helped raise millions for the "Green" cause. I know that friend/mentor Al Gore, and Larry David's ex-wife, Laurie David, must be proud of them!

One of the inside jokes on 'Entourage' is that Vincent Chase (Grenier) was being considered for the role of Jay Gatsby, but the real role in the upcoming 'The Great Gatsby' was given to his buddy the 'Titanic' heartthrob who certainly looks the part in his vintage white suit. The film is a remake based on the timeless classic by F. Scott Fitzgerald, which will also star Tobey Maguire and Carey Mulligan.

Leo and the Aussie Ladies

During the filming of 'The Great Gatsby,' which is being shot in Australia, DiCaprio is renting a waterfront mansion in the Sydney suburb of Vaucluse. He was recently spotted with another (unidentified) beauty, and has been linked to Australian models Alyce Crawford and Kendal Schuler.

DiCaprio Turns 37

In November, Leo celebrated his 37th birthday in style with a big bash that included famous friends and of course lots of beautiful ladies, still found a way to raise over one million dollars for his favorite charities and causes.

Leonardo Takes on The Reaper

It was also just announced that HBO has signed on board to develop the 'J. Edgar' star's 'Beat the Reaper.' Leonardo will serve as producer for the series that focuses around a doctor who is a former hit man, now in the witness protection program. This sounds very exciting, but as of yet, there is no definite date as to when the cable network will air the drama, but I'm sure both HBO and DiCaprio will somehow get it done, and get it done extremely well.

How does "the Hollywood golden boy" find the time to star in all these mind-blowing films, help save the planet, date supermodels, hang out and party with his celebrity pals, and attend award ceremonies? Nobody knows for sure, but whatever vitamins or health regimen he is on, we all want to know the secret!
