Actor Leonardo DiCaprio has proven quite the chameleon.

With the 3D re-release of director James Cameron's masterpiece "Titanic" in the theaters, we've all been reminded of just how good the performances from Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio were. Though he was noticeably absent from the premiere, there's no doubt that it was the film that put DiCaprio on the map and pushed his career into the stratosphere. He'd already been a working actor for almost a decade, but this was the role that showcased his talents to the masses and we all bought in at that point.

Over the years, DiCaprio has worked with with the best actors and directors working in Hollywood. He's appeared alongside Tom Hanks in "Catch Me If You Can" and he worked for the legendary Martin Scorsese on "The Departed." Later this year he'll appear as one of the most iconic characters in American fiction, Jay Gatsby in Baz Luhrmann's version of "The Great Gatsby." He's got a couple more projects coming up after that as well, which has been his way of working for quite some time now.

So what does Leo do next?

Win That Oscar! - He of course has nothing to do with whether the Academy can break their cycle of nominating him but not actually voting for him when the time comes. It seems strange that an actor of his caliber wouldn't have won an Oscar by now, but then again Meryl Streep's only won three herself, and she's been acting for over forty years. Let's just hope for DiCaprio's sake that he gets that first one in the next couple of years.

Get Behind the Lens - Maybe he's waiting for his first acting Oscar to feel like he's ready to direct, but we think the "Gangs of New York" actor would do a splendid job as the man at the helm. He's worked with so many famous and iconic directors at this point that he must have picked up more than a few pointers from working with Scorsese, Cameron and Luhrmann, just to name three. Maybe a move to the director's chair would also finally break him through with the academy as well. DiCaprio could wind up having a career akin to Clint Eastwood's. Eastwood has been nominated a few times for an acting Oscar, but he's won two Best Director and two Best Picture Oscars since turning to directing.
