The New York Post reported on Thursday that Remini -- one of several major celebrities to be longtime members of the church -- had decided to cut ties after disagreeing with certain practices of the religion.

The actress alleged that she was interrogated for years after seeking on an occasion the whereabouts of Church of Scientology leader David Miscavige's wife, Shelly, according to the Post. She reportedly also questioned the church's requirement for followers to "disconnect" from family members branded "suppressive persons."
