It has been a few years since Lauren Conrad left "The Hills," and the 26-year-old star remains content to be out of the TV spotlight. In fact, she has no desire to return to the genre that made her famous. "I'm not looking to go back," said the star when directly asked about a future reality series. Lauren, who also starred on the MTV hit "Laguna Beach," has plenty of reasons to avoid the reality craze for a third time. She has found tremendous success in her life away from MTV, and that's more than you can say for most reality stars that appear on the network. "I think some people loved it," she said when talking about reality fame. "They loved the attention. It always kind of made me uncomfortable and so I was happy to leave." Here is a look at some of the other things that Lauren has been up to in her life outside of "The Hills."
She's been successful in fashion
Fans caught a glimpse of Lauren's fashion dreams on "The Hills," and she has flourished in that field since the show ended. She has had a few successful fashion lines, including the LC Lauren Conrad collection that appears in Kohl's stores nationwide. She will also use her fashion talents for good when she hosts the Susan G. Komen Designs for the Cure Gala on October 13.
She's written books
In 2009, Lauren released her first novel with "L.A. Candy." The book was loosely based on her personal life, and became a New York Times bestseller. She has continued to find success with writing ever since, and her fifth novel is slated to be released on October 16. Lauren has also written a couple of fashion books, including the upcoming "Lauren Conrad Beauty" that is scheduled to come out on the same day as her latest novel.
She's active on the web
Lauren is heavily involved in her personal website, which offers fans a variety of experiences. In addition to promoting her own books and fashion lines, she also shares everything from recipes to decorating tips. In addition to her own site, Lauren also runs a website with a few friends that centers on beauty. The Beauty Department website shares tips on a variety of fashion topics, and even offers users tutorials for fans that want to look as stunning as possible.
