Lance Bass may be a member of the Amanda Bynes "ugly" club, but he's not holding a grudge.

A few weeks ago, Lance gave a radio interview that rubbed the Nickelodeon star the wrong way. Discussing her recent bizarre behavior, he explained, "The Amanda I know would never had said something like this to me - either this is a fake person or she really does have a mental illness. Way too sad. I reached out - all i can do."

Amanda was none too pleased with the suggestion that she was suffering from mental illness. As she tweeted, "I ignored Lance Bass on twitter and now he is saying I have a mental illness. Sorry you're an ugly ex boy band member w/ no talent or career. I haven't spoken to Lance Bass in 11 years. To say I have a mental illness out of nowhere makes me lash out! You're making me crazy!"

Despite Amanda's attacks, the "ugly ex boy band member" continues to respond with compassion. As he told omg! insider, "With Amanda, I love her so much. I think she's so sweet. We really got to know each other well on a movie that we shot together. And, you know, I just wanted to reach out to her and say, 'I'm there for you.' Unfortunately, whatever's happening in her life right now, she's not really wanting to hear anything like that."

And he does not blame Amanda in any way for her attacks. As told E! News last night, "It's not her. It's so sad."

Lance is not the only one who has expressed sympathy for Amanda. Here's a look at other celebs who have tried to reach out to the troubled star.

Dr. Drew

This month, Dr. Drew Pinsky tried to help Amanda by asking Twitter users to leave her alone. As he tweeted, "I think it may be time to leave @AmandaBynes alone. She will get help if she wants it & if she needs it,hopefully before serious consequences."

Like Lance, Dr. Drew was slapped with the "ugly" label. As Amanda responded, "@drdrew WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? What kind of help are you referring to? You're ugly and I want you to leave me alone!"

Later, the doctor clarified the intentions of his original tweet. "What I meant was, I had been receiving literally thousands of emails demanding I help Amanda Bynes. I don't know Amanda, she's never asked me for help, nor have any of her people; she lives 3,000 miles away, so it was just responding to that saying, 'Look guys, leave her alone; if she needs help, hopefully she'll get help one day before something bad happens.'"

He also explained that he had only been trying to be supportive. He also apologized, explaining that the idea of help had upset her.

Courtney Love

Last month, Courtney offered some tough love for Amanda, tweeting, "@AmandaBynes pull it together dude."

Not surprisingly, Amanda responded by slapping her with the "ugly" label. "Courtney Love is the ugliest woman I've ever seen. To be mentioned by her at all makes me and all my friends laugh!"

Courtney decided to call Amanda out for her fixation on physical appearances. She wondered, "Oh yeah, that thing [Amanda]…I think she likes the word 'ugly' a lot… it's like, what's that about?"

Courtney also talked about how attitude was more important than looks. "Listen, when I was 14 I was so bloody ugly, and I thought I was Kate Moss. I chased this guy named Mark…he was the hottest photographer in Portland, around...So if someone calls me ugly, it sort of rolls off my back because…it's not about looks, it's about attitude. I mean, you get laid on attitude…"

Jenny McCarthy

Last month, Amanda slapped Jenny with the "ugly" label during a Twitter spat. Jenny said the cops were called to Amanda's place after she posted two topless photos on Twitter. As Jenny tweeted, "Police are at @AmandaBynes house. I hope they get her help. Enough of this circus. She needs help,"

Amanda's response? "@JennyMcCarthy you're ugly! Police weren't at my house old lady! Shut the f*** up!...@jennymccarthy I need help? What are u talking about? Aren't u 50 years old? I'm 27, u look 80 compared to me! Why are you talking about me?"

Fortunately, the two women were able to make up. As Jenny tweeted, "@AmandaBynes sorry girl. Looking out for ya." To which Amanda responded, "@JennyMcCarthy thanks! I'm sorry I offended you! You're beautiful! I was lying! I'll delete our tweets!"

Nick Cannon

This week, in an interview with Howard Stern, Nick explained that he was hoping for the best for her, that he once considered her "like my little sister," and that he had tried to reach out to her. As he explained, "To see someone you'd seen at 9, running around with a snotty nose, and now to see her like that is like, 'Wow, man! That's sad.'"

Although Amanda did not directly slap Nick with the "ugly" label, she did tweet, "If you're not hot I don't value your opinion. Stop trying to force me to listen if I show no interest."
