Lady Gaga

Mega pop star Lady Gaga, 26, likes to make over-the-top fashion statements, and she doesn't care if you approve of them or not. In a show of support for her photographer friend Terry Richardson, who lost his mom to cancer this week, Gaga cut off her long hair and shaved the back of her head. "I did it for u Terry. I'm sorry about ure mommy. She has princess die, but were all princess high," Mother Monster tweeted.

Stars shave their heads for movie roles, such as when Demi Moore shaved her head for "G.I. Jane." But who are some others who, like Lady Gaga, have done it in real life?

Sinead O'Connor

When Sinead O'Connor, 45, entered the scene in the 80s, she did it with a buzz cut. Today, ultra-short hair on women can still turn heads and not necessarily in a good way. Back then, "The Lion and the Cobra" singer was extra brave.

Britney Spears

Yes, she's been a brunette, but she's known for her long, silky blonde hair. So it was quite the surprise when pop star Britney Spears, 30, started acting crazy and added to her weird behavior by cutting off her locks. We never got used to a bald Britney. So we're glad the hair is back.

Amber Rose

Not everyone looks fabulous with a buzz cut, but model/socialite Amber Rose, 28, does. So what if Kanye West reportedly dumped her for Kim Kardashian. Rose is now engaged to another rapper - Wiz Khalifa.

Kellie Pickler

One would never expect country singer Kellie Pickler, 26, to shave her head, but that's exactly what she did in support of her friend Summer Holt Miller who is fighting cancer. And not only does Kellie have heart, but she's also got humor. "Thinking about being "G.I. Jane" for Halloween. ;)." she tweeted.
