Once famous for being O.J. Simpson's lawyer, Robert Kardashian has become better known in death as Kris Jenner's betrayed first husband. Now the legal eagle can "object" from the grave with the posthumous release of his diaries that purport to reveal the momager's messy affair with a professional soccer player.
Or do they?
The diaries allegedly written by Kardashian were sold to a tabloid publisher by his widow Ellen Pearson, who is reportedly on bad terms with her four stepchildren -- Kim, Kourtney, Khloe and Rob - as well as Mama Kris.
The entries paint a sordid picture of the brunette socialite as a neglectful mother who seemed to forget she had four young children when she fooled around with a hunky professional athlete. Snippets from the diaries include "K w/ Todd all weekend," "slept on floor b/c she was so drunk" and "Kris slept out again -- never home at all. Kids don't even ask where she is."
Though Jenner has admitted to her affair with soccer jock Todd Waterman in her 2012 memoir, "Kris Jenner . . . And All Things Kardashian," her late husband's perspective is less flattering. The reality TV star comes off more like a drunken floozy who skipped out on PTA meetings to meet with her paramour than a conscience riddled suburban housewife.
Not that Jenner downplayed the salaciousness of her secret sexual trysts in her book. "We had sex in cars, sex on the tennis court, sex in the pool house, sex in the garage when we got home, sex up and down the stairs, sex everywhere, all the time," she wrote. However, she claims to have paid a big price for the affair, which ultimately broke up her marriage and left psychological scars. "I carried around a lot of guilt for many years and it took me 20 years to just feel good about myself again."
Interestingly, Kris and the kids are suing the second Mrs. Kardashian for releasing the diaries, not because they claim the information is false, but because the kids are the legal heirs to their father's writings. According to their attorney Marty Singer, "The Kardashians and Kris Jenner have filed a suit against Ellen Pearson for taking personal property belonging to them by virtue of Robert Kardashian's will and by virtue of copyright protection."
Meanwhile, the man with whom Jenner had the affair, psuedonymed "Ryan" in her book, is not trying to get his 15 minutes of fame from his association with the matriarch of the Kardashian clan. Waterman recently told a celebrity website, "I am not a fan of the whole Kardashian machine . . . . To me, it ties into what they have already done in terms of picking and choosing what they release and how they are portrayed."
