Filming on "Game of Thrones" Season 4 is in full swing and Kit Harington, who stars as Jon Snow, said it is shaping up to be "action packed."

"There's a hell of a lot of fight scenes. There's a lot of blood, there's a lot of gore. It's more action packed then any season we've done so far, so it's gonna be a test to see if we can get it done," Kit told Access Hollywood at the Young Hollywood Awards last week in Los Angeles.

Kit also hinted there are big things ahead for his character, Jon, who arrived at Castle Black at the end of Season 3 very worse for wear, bleeding profusely from the wounds he sustained after his ex - Ygritte (Rose Leslie) -- shot him with three arrows after he betrayed her.

"I'm always - in a very pessimistic way - waiting for them to drop the ball and then we got [the scripts for] Season 4 through after what I thought was a very impressive Season 3... and it's brilliant. It's my favorite so far," he told Access . "I've got a lot to do this season."

Filming for Season 4 will not bring Kit back to Iceland where he's shot many scenes in previous episodes.

"I'm not in Iceland this year. A lot of my friends went over to Iceland, a lot of people went over to Iceland that haven't been before and I didn't get to go this year, which is sad because I love the place," he said. "I'm purely in Northern Ireland this year."

"Game of Thrones" will return to HBO in 2014, and also for Kit in 2014 is his first role in an animated film - "How to Train Your Dragon 2," which is due out on June 20.

"I play a new character who comes in who's a dragon trapper," he said. "It's a great franchise. It's a great sequence of films."
