Kiefer Sutherland Talks '24' Movie Delays

Rumors flew earlier this week that Kiefer Sutherland was "furious" after Fox decided to indefinitely delay a big screen 24 movie.

Reportedly Fox's desired budget for the film (which was set to start shooting next month) was much less than the $40 million Sutherland & co felt was necessary. Rumors also persist that Kiefer felt his salary wasn't sufficient and his commitments to new show Touch would make scheduling a bit of a nightmare.

Kiefer's Killer Christmas Card

Well, the star took to The Tonight Show last night and (sort of) set the record straight. "We finally got a script to a really amazing place and unfortunately because of my schedule ... and everyone else's schedule and finding the right slot to do the film in ... we're trying to fit a lot moving parts," he told Leno.

But Kiefer tells fans to remain optimistic about the chances Jack Bauer's big screen adventure will still come to fruition. "We're still trying and if we don't get it into this slot, we'll do it next year!" Adding, "24 was so good to me. I think we have a responsibly to protect it. Our job is to make sure we make the best possible movie ever and if we have to wait a little longer, we will."
