Ashley Olsen and her sister Mary-Kate set the trend for celebs designing clothing.

It's hard these days to keep up with 16-year-old Kendall Jenner and 15-year-old Kylie Jenner (of the Kardashian clan), who have joined their older half-sisters in the world of entrepreneurship. Kendall and Kylie already have been hitting the runways as models and writing a column for Seventeen about teen fashion. But they just announced they will also be releasing their own clothing line. Still, they are not the first celebrities under 20 to try their hands in the fashion world. Here's a look at other clothing lines by young stars.

Kendall and Kylie Jenner

The youngest of the Kardashian dynasty are teaming up with Majestic Mills (who produce Nicole Richie's House of Harlow 1960) to create junior clothing including - pants, T-shirts, shorts, shoes and accessories. In a recent press release the Jenner girls stated, "We love fashion and always get asked what we are wearing. So when we got the chance to design our line with Majestic Mills we were thrilled! We think it will reflect our casual chic style that we wear everyday and now so can our fans. We're really excited by the entire design process and can't wait to see our creations in stores!"

Demi Lovato

Back in the day before Demi Lovato was a hugely popular "X Factor" judge, she was just an equally popular star of the Disney series "Sonny with a Chance." In 2010 the then 18-year-old actress released a line of clothing in conjunction with Disney's D-Signed line. The items made for young tween girls in the 4-6 size range were sold in Target and were inspired by the costumes her "Sonny" character wore on the show.

Selena Gomez

The same year, Lovato's fellow Disney star, Selena Gomez from "The Wizards of Waverly Place" also became a fashion mogul. Gomez's collection, called "Dream Out Loud," was released in K-Mart. The line, still available in stores and online, features ruffled shirts, striped hoodies, floral dresses and funky accessories to tie the looks together. The store's website carries the entire collection in junior sizes at affordable prices. As the slogan reads, "Boho never looked so adorable."

Miley Cyrus

The "Hannah Montana" star also produced a line of clothing for juniors. This one, created in partnership with Max Azria, was sold at Walmart. But the wild looks that included ripped up jeans and ultra-mini skirts did not go over all that well with the shoppers at the discount store. Apparently Miley's clothes took over the junior department and shoppers were not happy with the designs or the quality. And Miley's not the only Cyrus to dip her toe into the fashion pool. Back in 2010 then nine-year-old Noah Cyrus launched a line of edgy outfits for the pre-teen set. The designs received a lot of criticism for being a little too risqué for young girls.

Taylor Swift

Always a trendsetter, Taylor Swift released a line of sundresses back in 2009. The L.E.I. line was sold at Walmart and mimicked the singers signature style of simple, country frocks perfect for matching with a hot pair of cowboy boots.

Olsen Twins

It's quite possible none of today's young fashion stars would be peddling their wares in stores had it not been for the Olsen twins setting the standard. The two sisters made a name for themselves on the '80s sitcom "Full House." By the '90s they had built an empire that included a production company, books, magazines and clothes. These days the Olsens have all but given up on acting and are dedicating their time almost exclusively to fashion. They have become giants in the clothing industry, a milestone that was proven recently when they were honored with a Council of Fashion Designers of America award for the top womenswear designers for their line called The Row.
