Kelsey Grammer, 56, is expecting a child with his wife, Kayte Walsh, who is currently in her second trimester. While this is Kayte's first child, it is the fifth for Kelsey. The "Boss" actor has one daughter with his first wife Doreen Alderman, one daughter with his stylist Barrie Buckner and one daughter with his ex-wife Camille Grammer.
Kelsey isn't the only older dad in Hollywood. Many other celebrity men have had children when they were past 40. Let's take a look at some of them.
Gary Busey had a baby boy with his girlfriend, Steffanie Sampson on Feb. 23, 2010. He was 65 at the time of his birth, so he was technically old enough to be the baby's great-grandfather. I wonder how his now 40-year-old son, Jake, feels being nearly four decades older than his brother. I am also surprised that Gary gave his son such a normal name like Luke. Since he is a very eccentric guy, I thought he would have chosen a much more bizarre name.
Kevin Costner was 55 years old when his wife, Christine Baumgartner gave birth to his seventh child, a girl named Grace Avery, on June 2, 2010. He also has two other small children with his wife and four other children from a previous marriage. Since they just had a baby the previous year, they certainly had their hands full!
Brad Pitt has six young children with Angelina Jolie. Three of them are adopted and three are biological. Angelina delivered their two youngest children, Knox and Vivienne on July 12, 2008 when Brad was 44 years old. Even though Brad didn't start fathering children until he was over 40, he still makes a great dad who spends a lot of time with his children. Last spring, he was seen playing with Knox and Vivienne at a local park.
Elton JohnElton John and his partner, David Furnish became parents to a baby boy named Zachary on Dec. 25, 2010. Elton was 62 at the time of his birth. The proud couple didn't reveal which one of them was the biological father to respect the surrogate mother's privacy. It's great that Elton finally received a chance to be a father. In 2009, he tried to adopt a baby from the Ukraine, but was rejected because of his age and civil marriage.
Paul McCartneyPaul McCartney welcomed a baby girl named Beatrice Milly to the world on Oct. 28, 2003 with his wife, Heather Mills. Paul was 61 at the time and already had three adult children. Even though the baby came three weeks early, she still weighed a healthy 7 lbs. She was named after Heather's late mother Beatrice and Paul's aunt Milly.
