Actress Kelly Preston and her husband John Travolta lived through every parent's worst fear when their son Jett, 16, passed away during a family vacation in The Bahamas in 2009. Their suffering got worse following his death when the couple were victims of a multi-million dollar extortion plot surrounding the circumstances of his passing. Through it all, the actress held her head high and weathered the storm.
"I've had enormous loss," the actress tells Lifetime's "The Coversation with Amanda de Cadenet" of Jett's death following a seizure. "Nobody should have to lose a child. It's unfathomable. But I'm here to say that you can get through it. You can live again. You can want to live again."
With her candor about her loss, Kelly gives us a glimpse inside her decision to heal and move forward with life surrounded by the support of her family and friends.
"People were so beautiful - so, so extraordinary from all over the world," she added. "Everybody grieves in their own way. I felt at times like I was drowning. It felt like a sea of wet blankets. And then I just peeled them off, layer by layer, so that I can no say, 'I want to live. I love my life. My life is beautiful and amazing."
