TV Land's Hot in Cleveland will no doubt be better off with the arrival of likable Better Off Ted star Jay Harrington. Harrington and Heather Locklear join the sitcom in the Nov. 28 season premiere as Melanie's (Valerie Bertinelli) new bosses.

"Melanie gets hired to work at a PR firm by an exec named Chloe [Locklear]," explains Harrington. "After her first interview, Melanie gets in an embarrassing situation in an elevator with my character, Alec." Only later does Melanie learn that Alec is one of the firm's head honchos — and Chloe's ex-husband. "It's awkward, but charming, because Melanie and I hit it off immediately."

Unfortunately for Melanie, Chloe still carries a torch for her ex, who has been named Cleveland's Sexiest Bachelor, a title Alec finds terribly embarrassing. But "Chloe feels the title's good for business," adds Harrington, who is slated to appear in at least six episodes.

Alec will also connect with Wendie Malick's Victoria. "Victoria books a role in a movie, and Alec ends up getting the film company to shoot in Cleveland. It's a lot of fun how we're all tied together."
