Katy Perry Narrowly Avoids Nip Slip: Where She's Been and What She's Up To

Katy Perry never seems to escape the headlines when it comes to her fashion. On April 18, she attended ASCAP Pop Music Awards in Hollywood while wearing a beautiful ivory embroidered Temperley London gown. The spaghetti strap on her dress had its own plan when it slipped off her shoulder and almost revealed a little too much just as she was posing for photographers. Oops! Other than almost exposing her goods on the red carpet, what else has she been up to lately?

Coachella: Weekend one

The songstress attended the first weekend of Coachella and was sporting some rather odd fashions including a completely sheer dress and a black leather and lace ensemble. What had everyone talking was her recently dyed hair. She went from bright blue locks to a deep purple.

If you've heard the song "Call Me Maybe" by Carly Rae Jepsen, you likely can't get it out of your head. It seems Katy and her friends can't either. While they were hanging out poolside at a house they rented Coachella weekend, a friend of hers filmed the group lip-synching, goofing off and dancing around to the song. Jepsen caught wind of it and on April 17 tweeted "Well... @ KatyPerry I have to say that you made my night!"

"American Idol" performance

On April 26 at 8 p.m. ET, the beauty will perform her song "Part of Me" on "American Idol." In February, the song debuted in the Number One spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Back in 2010, she guest judged the "American Idol" auditions alongside Randy Jackson, Simon Cowell and Kara DioGuardi and had a difference of opinion with the other lady on the panel. Kara was pushing for a contestant to go through while Ms. Perry wasn't feeling him at all. At one point, DioGuardi started singing "I Kissed a Girl" when the original singer chimed in and said "Please stop before I throw my Coke in your face!" Let's hope there's less drama this time even if she is just performing.
