Kate Hudson is one stylish mama!

The actress is set to take a stab at fashion design with the creation of a capsule collection for the Ann Taylor brand. According to the press release about the collection, Kate "will make her first foray into fashion design as she collaborates with Creative Director Lisa Axelson on the summer capsule."

The collection is described as being inspired by Kate's own red carpet style and are designed to capture the sexy sophistication of modern women.

With this foray into fashion, Kate joins a growing collection of stars to try their hand at fashion design. Here are a few of the stars with fashion lines in the works:

Ryan Lochte: The Olympian is building his brand out of the pool with the introduction of his own clothing line that will go along with his upcoming E! reality show. The swimmer revealed the news during an interview with Celebuzz saying, "Pretty much, they follow me on my normal day, just training, doing my own fashion line.... it's gonna be me, me being myself. And I'm pretty much going to show the world that and my new fashion line."

Rihanna: The singer is set to make her designer debut in March when her capsule collection for River Island hits store shelves. Fans of the star have started to get their first glimpses of the line for the British streetwear brand as she has been spotted wearing pieces including a navy suede hooded sweatshirt and she has shared some photos from the advertising campaign shoot on her Twitter page.

John Mayer: He may have been off from singing while he was being treated for a throat condition, but that didn't keep the star from jumping on the design train. Rather than launch a full-on collection, Mayer decided to team up with Barrett Alley to try his hand as an accessories designer by creating a collection of limited edition wallets.
