Karl Lagerfeld slams Kate Middleton’s sister Pippa: ‘I don’t like her face’

Don’t expect to see Karl Lagerfeld at Buckingham Palace any time soon. The very outspoken Chanel creative director took a swipe at Kate Middleton’s younger sister Pippa during an interview with the British newspaper The Sun. After praising Prince William’s stunning wife, 30, for her “nice silhouette” and saying, “I like that kind of woman. I like romantic beauties,” he suddenly turned on her 28-year-old sister, who has grabbed headlines ever since she served as maid-of-honor at the royal wedding last April. “On the other hand, her sister struggles. I don't like the sister's face. She should only show her back," Lagerfeld said, in reference to Pippa’s now-famous derriere.

But Pippa shouldn’t worry about the 78-year-old’s jab – after all, she’s in good company. In February, Lagerfeld dissed Grammy-winning singer Adele for being “a little too fat,” despite the fact that he actually used to be overweight until he lost nearly 100 pounds in 2001. After the remark sparked outrage all over the world, he insisted the quote was taken out of context and reportedly further apologized by sending Adele a shipment of Chanel handbags.

In 2009, Lagerfeld accused supermodel Heidi Klum of being "more bling bling" than high fashion. It may be Victoria’s Secret, but it is not my secret,” he snipped. “The people in Europe – apart from in Germany – don’t know who she is. In Germany she is very current, but as a mannequin rather than a model. I have never photographed her or had her in one of my shows.”

So then who does Lagerfeld like? Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Victoria Beckham, and Claudia Schiffer are all members of his close circle of friends.
