Kanye West joined the celebs already in support of the Occupy Wall Street movement.

Kanye West really does want to find a tree for him and Kim Kardashian to sit in. At least that's the impression he and sources close to the rapper are trying to give. Us Weekly is reporting that a source close to both West and his friend Jay-Z told the magazine that Kanye's feelings for Kim are "...not a PR stunt. They're perfect for each other. He thinks she's his Beyonce!"

At face value this couple might not make much sense, but if one scratches the surface just a bit, you can see what this friend of the group is getting at. Both Kim and Kanye have taken serious heat in the press over the last couple of years for things they've done both in their personal and professional lives. Kanye was called on the carpet a couple years ago when he interrupted an acceptance speech by Taylor Swift, and even President Obama made remarks about it.

Then there's the 72-day publicity stunt framed as a wedding that Kardashian pulled off last year. The PR aftershocks of that debacle are still reverberating, as Kim's reputation took a solid hit in the wake of her annulment from NBA player Kris Humphries. So maybe Kanye and Kim could find a little solace in one another and combine forces to take on the world. But then again...

Is it really hard to believe that two celebrities that are known for being unafraid to self-promote and put their names in the headlines, are just taking advantage of their mutual star power to create more press for themselves? After all, Kim swore to the high-heavens that her marriage to Kris Humphries was for love, and definitely was not a publicity stunt. Yet in the aftermath of its dissolution, any details that have come out have indicated otherwise.

The blame for our cynicism doesn't just rest on Kardashian's shoulders, though the freshness of her latest marriage does make it hard to forget that we just went through this all with her last year. Kanye is also a master self-promoter. The truth is that the aforementioned stunt he pulled on Swift's acceptance speech was in all reality probably just another clever way to insert himself into the public conversation, generating more of a buzz around him.

So when will we know if this relationship really is one based on real-life attraction to one another or if it's just another stunt to get us talking about them both? Perhaps in thirty years "Kimye" (why not get started on the cute celebrity nicknames now?) will still be going strong, with three kids, the house and the white picket fence. Then again...maybe not.
