Regrets, he has a few!

"The Bachelor" star Juan Pablo Galavis made a grande mistake on the latest episode of the ABC reality romance show, and it's coming back to haunt him. After a passionate, late night romp in the ocean with 32-year-old hairstylist Clare (actually it was more like 4 a.m.!), the single father regretted his actions, and called the smitten contestant out for her seductive ways.

Although Clare called the oceanic encounter "pure bliss in every way," "The Bachelor" star pulled her aside at the cocktail party and said it wasn't "fair" to sneak off behind the other ten contestants' backs, adding that it wouldn't cool for his four-year-old daughter to see what they did.

"I don't want [Camila] to see what happened. If she sees it, I don't think it'll be that nice," he said.

Of course, this public shaming didn't go over very well. Clare burst into tears, despite the fact that the former soccer pro half-heartedly tried to tell her it was his fault too and he was totally "on board" with what happened between them. Cut to the awkward pre-rose ceremony scene, and a red-eyed Clare, who was blaming her sniffles on "really bad allergies." After further thought, she became annoyed that she was the fall girl in the whole mess, because, let's face it, it takes two to tango.

Unfortunately, this badly handled incident is another example of JP's cultural confusion. Host Chris Harrison told TV Guide even the crew was confused by the star's sudden curveball and how he handled the confrontation.

"When she showed up he was fully into it like this is awesome and sexy and she was as happy as can be and then he turns around and treats her like all of a sudden she did something wrong and broke the rules," Harrison said. "It was not only confusing, but it was borderline rude. We even told him as much, but he didn't see it that way. Even though he apologized later I don't think he really understood how cheap he made her feel."

Harrison acknowledged that "there are cultural differences with him and things do get lost in translation and how it's interpreted."

On his blog for Entertainment Weekly, Harrison reiterated that the couple's oceanic adventure "was a fully clothed late night dip that did get a little physical (or maybe a lot physical)" and added, "Either way, both of them mutually consented to be there and both of them really seemed to enjoy themselves."

Harrison also revealed that the single dad's "ever-changing rules" will spill into future episodes: "The incident with Clare might have happened in Vietnam, but it didn't stay there - the issue between the two of them is far from over," he wrote.

While JP may not understand how cheap he made Clare feel, this isn't the first time there's been a communication breakdown with the reality star. Last month he told the The TV Page that he's against having an openly gay or bisexual lead on the ABC reality romance show, describing homosexuals as "more pervert in a sense."

He later issued an apology via Facebook, explaining, "The word pervert was not what I meant to say and I am very sorry about it. Everyone knows English is my second language and my vocabulary is not as broad as it is in Spanish and, because of this, sometimes I use the wrong words to express myself."

As for his latest faux pas, Juan Pablo took to Twitter to write: "I ADMIT it, in tonight's EPISODE I made a MISTAKE... #TheBachelor."

We're just not sure if he means the mistake was being with Clare or confronting Clare.

"The Bachelor" Season 18 airs on Mondays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
