Joshua Ledet couldn’t hold back the water works when he found out he won’t make it to next week’s American Idol finale. After the show, the 20-year-old revealed why he had to be consoled on stage!

“I don’t think I am upset about it because I was super excited for Phillip [Phillips] and Jessica [Sanchez],” he said. “I think my face from crying and being emotional and I was trying hold my smile but I definitely wasn’t upset. I felt relieved and a lot of pressure was off of me. I feel good.”

And as for how it felt to get a hug from judge Jennifer Lopez?

“Honestly I didn’t think I was going to cry, I felt good about the whole situation,” he said. “But when people come up to you and try to comfort you then the tears start coming and a whole bunch of other stuff. With all their support I lost it a little bit… Jennifer told me to keep my head up and that I was only going to go further from here.”
