John Travolta sued by male cruise ship employee for sexual assault
Just when the firestorm surrounding John Travolta and all those male masseurs has finally died down, another man has filed a federal lawsuit claiming he too was sexually assaulted by the married actor. Fabian Zanzi, a former employee of the Royal Caribbean cruise line, says that in June 2009, five months after his son Jett died, the “Pulp Fiction” star took off his robe and rubbed his naked body against him during a food delivery to his cabin. According to the man, Travolta said, “Take me, I will take care of you,please.” But when Zanzi rejected his advances, he says that the actor offered him $12,000 to keep the incident quiet. He’s now seeking an unspecified amount for assault, battery, and emotional distress.
And just like with all the other lawsuits, which have since been dismissed by the accusers, Travolta’spowerhouse attorney Marty Singer insists Zanzi’s claims are false. "This is another ludicrous lawsuit with inane claims. It is obvious that Mr. Zanzi and his lawyers are looking for their 15 minutes of fame." Singer adds that Zanzi never made any mention of assault in a handwritten report he filed with Royal Caribbean before he quit in May 2011 and "that glaring omission speaks volumes.” For his part, Zanzi says his supervisor wouldn’t allow him to document anything in writing and also “restrained” him to a “segregated room” for five days until Travolta’s time on the ship ended.
Three days before the new lawsuit was filed, Travolta, 58, sat down with “Extra” to discuss his new movie, the Oliver Stone thriller “Savages,” and how important his wife of 20 years, Kelly Preston, and their two children are to him. Of Preston, he said, “We've always been stable with each other. We use our communication skills. We understand what is going in life and the industry. I think the toughest part was just the loss of our son and once we were able to get through that – and times we didn't think we were going to – I think we figured we could handle anything… Everything else pales in comparison.”
