Jessica Simpson Welcomes Baby Girl
Jessica Simpson gave birth to her baby girl on Tuesday morning.
"Eric and I are elated to announce the birth of our baby girl," Jessica posted on her official website, where she also revealed her daughter's name, Maxwell Drew Johnson. She reported that her baby girl weighed in at 9 pounds, 13 ounces and measured 21 and 3/4 inches long.

"We are so grateful for all of the love, support and prayers we have received. This has been the greatest experience of our lives!!" her message added. The singer had been over her due date for more than a week.
Simpson, 31, and Johnson, 32, announced their engagement in November 2010, but have not publicly disclosed a wedding date.

Jessica's sister Ashlee didn't waste any time sharing her excitement at the birth. "Jessica has wanted to be a mom since we were little girls and I couldn't be more excited for her and Eric," she told People magazine. "Bronx and I are in love with Maxwell already!" added Ashlee, referring to her 3-year-old son Bronx.
Simpson did not shy away from publicity during her pregnancy, appearing on various talk shows and gushing to Jimmy Kimmel and Jay Leno about her baby experiences.
