Is 40 the new 30? Apparently so, judging from the continuing success of several stars that turned the big 4-0 this year. As for how these celebs feel about turning into another decade? Some maintain they feel better than ever, while others are delightfully distraught over their new age.

Let's take a look at a few celebs who turned 40 this year.

Jenny McCarthy

Jenny McCarthy just turned 40 on Nov. 1, but you'd never know it by looking at her. The television host and Autism activist is aging quite gracefully - enough for her to pose for the cover of Playboy earlier this year. And as for how she's feeling? Pretty good.

"I sadly have the same thought that my parents say every birthday which is, 'I don't feel that old.' So, I have decided to make my mindset 40 is the new 15. Okay, fine - the new 22," she told People at her birthday bash last weekend, adding that the best birthday present would be Bradley Cooper in her shower.

However, McCarthy - who just broke off a short romance with Chicago Bears player Brian Urlacher - isn't ready for a new relationship.

"I have not met anyone yet that is a potential love," she said. "I have myself under construction. I'll let you know when the roads are clear and reopened."

Sofia Vergara

Colombian stunner Sofia Vergara is not one for mincing words. Need proof? She let the words fly when she was asked recently about turning 40.

"Turning 40 is horrible," she told Lucky magazine in the October issue. "People that say it isn't are full of s**t."

Okay then. However, she credits new fiance Nick Loeb, 37, for keeping her young. She said she might consider having another child for him, too (her son, Manolo, is 20.)

"He never had them," Vergara said of Loeb and kids. "So if he wants one, maybe I will have."

Ben Affleck

Ben Affleck has three children - including baby Samuel - to keep him young, but he said that turned 40 was still pretty hard on him.

"It was not fun for me," he told The Hollywood Reporter of the landmark birthday. "It's this moment of bifurcation between youth and middle age. One wants to think of oneself as young. One does not want to think, "Wait a minute! How can I be halfway to death?'"

Gwyneth Paltrow

Gwyneth Paltrow has done her best to create the image of this perfect little life, so it's no surprise that she paints a perfect picture of being 40.

"I was really worried about it, leading up to the day, but now I feel really happy and content with my life," Paltrow said earlier this year. "I'm excited to move into the next phase. It's much more exciting than I thought it would be."

Do you think turning 40 is that big of a deal?
