Perhaps Jennifer Lawrence didn't want anyone to recognize her after her embarrassing tumble during her Oscar acceptance,or maybe she was hoping to hide from paps while smoking a "questionable" cigarette while on vacay in Hawaii. In any case, almost immediately after scoring her golden statue, "The Hunger Games" actress went back to her Katniss roots, trading in blond locks for a considerably darker hairdo.

Coincidentally, she's not the only celebrity to jump onto this trend. In Hollywood, changing hair colors isn't really a peculiar thing. But for some reason, when blondes suddenly choose brunette hues, heads turn. Do they too have similar reasons for dying their famously sunny locks? Check out these celebs who have also taken a page out of JLaw's "Silver Linings Playbook."

Britney Spears

Switching boyfriends isn't the only major change that pop tart Britney Spears made this year. At an Oscar party, the "Scream and Shout" singer showcased shiny chestnut locks - a direct contrast to her traditional bleachy tresses. Spears has popped up on a few horrid hair lists in the past, namely for fried ends and tangled hair extensions. But her healthy new 'do appears to match her new sunny disposition.

LeAnn Rimes

Heads turned after Valentine's Day, when country singer LeAnn Rimes stepped out sporting bangs and a darker hair color than she normally wears. Not completely brunette, the dirtier blonde look (along with a slightly heavier build) sparked rumors that she and hubby Eddie Cibrian might be expecting a child. This isn't the first time Rimes has dabbled with a deeper hue. In April 2012, she was photographed shopping in Malibu with deep brunette locks.

Chloe Grace Moretz

Teen actress Chloe Grace Moretz took a new hair color for a spin, just in time for Paris Fashion Week in Jan. 2013. The "Kick-Ass" heroine began her burgeoning career as a fair-haired child star, but refined her tresses by warming up the color to a light brown. The switch just might be a smart move. Starring as Carrie in the upcoming 2013 remake, the shade is actually a lot closer to that of Sissy Spacek's in the original film.

Paris Jackson

The daughter of late pop king Michael Jackson wasn't exactly a blonde; but she's certainly shedding her little girl image in favor of a darker, much more introspective one. In her case, she went to the extreme, not only showing off jet black hair - but also a choppier length for an edgy, more textured look…or at least it seemed that way. Shortly after Valentine's Day, the teen heiress shocked the world with pics of her Gothic new look on Twitter. Alas, she was just tricking us. It was only a wig. Gotcha!
