It's official: Jennifer Aniston is engaged to her boyfriend of nearly two years, Justin Theroux. Reps for both stars confirmed the happy news with official statements. It turns out he proposed Friday on his birthday - how sweet!

"Justin Theroux had an amazing birthday on Friday, receiving an extraordinary gift when his girlfriend, Jennifer Aniston, accepted his proposal of marriage," his rep told People Sunday.

The two met on the set of their 2011 film "Wanderlust" and were soon spotted out-and-about as a pair. Aniston's dad even loves his daughter's 41-year-old fiance.

"He's a charming young man," soap star John Aniston told US Weekly in December 2011. "I think they make a wonderful couple."

It'll be the first marriage for Theroux and the second for Aniston, who was married to actor Brad Pitt from 2000 to 2005.

We're over-the-moon for the happy couple! It got us thinking: Who else in Hollywood got engaged this year?

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie

Aniston's ex finally put an engagement ring on his longtime girlfriend, Angelina Jolie, in April. Jeweler Robert Procop broke the news when he confirmed he made an engagement ring for the couple.

"Brad had a specific vision for this ring, which he realized over a yearlong collaboration. He wanted every aspect of it to be perfect, so I was able to locate a diamond of the finest quality and cut it to an exact custom size and shape to suit Angelina's hand," Procop told The Hollywood Reporter in April.

We hope Aniston's engagement will finally end the Aniston vs. Jolie stories that have permeated the gossip world since 2005. Doubt it, though: The next gossip headline will be: "Jen got engaged to make Brad jealous."

Mark our words.

Kate Bosworth and Michael Polish

Kate Bosworth never publicly announced her engagement to her boyfriend of one year, director Michael Polish. Instead, she let the news slip in a travel blog post she did for Vogue.

"On our first day in Seoul, my fiancé, Michael Polish, and I venture out to discover Changdeokgung Palace," she began before describing their trip.

Sneaky, sneaky Kate!

Sofia Vergara and Nick Loeb

Though her rep initially denied it, "Modern Family" star Sofia Vergara got engaged in early July while celebrating her 40th birthday. "She was bouncing around and showing everyone the ring," an onlooker told E! News of Vergara after the proposal from her on-again, off-again boyfriend Nick Loeb.

Her "Modern Family" co-stars are already planning what to get her as a wedding present.

"What do you give the woman who has everything? You give her a gag gift. Something funny," Sarah Hyland told US Weekly, adding that she'll probably give her something "kinky."

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth

Former "Hannah Montana" star Miley Cyrus wants us to know she's all grown up. What better way to do it than getting engaged to her "Hunger Games" boyfriend, Liam Hemsworth? The pair got engaged earlier this summer and Cyrus dished about the engagement in the new issue of Marie Claire.

"I don't really care about the wedding or the piece of paper as much as I do the promise we've made to each other. And we want to have a long engagement," she said.

Do you think Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux will live happily ever after?
