Jay-Z, Beyonce and Blue Ivy: A Love Story; Rapper Sings Baby Girl's Praises Again

Yahoo Contributor Network

Jay-Z loves his baby girl Blue Ivy and he wants to make sure everyone knows it. The rapper celebrated her birth with a song featuring her early cries. That tune charted on Billboard before the sure-to-be genetically gifted kid was about a week old. Now the "only rapper to rewrite history without a pen" is singing Blue's praises in a new song.

The song is artist Rick Ross' "3 Kings." Dr. Dre and Jay are also collaborators on the track. Jay-Z uses his verse on the tune to pay homage to his baby's lavish lifestyle. In fact, the singer says that his little princess is living better than most of us. The rapper explains in verse, "Y'all should know by now, if you don't know. Millions on the wall in all my rooms." He goes on to insist that detractors "couldn't f--k with my daughter's room, N--gas couldn't walk in my daughter's socks. Banksyb-tches, Basquiat!"

We have no doubt that Miss Ivy's nursery and socks are fab. Beyonce Knowles and her husband Shawn Carter are undisputed American music royalty. As a "mixed" family of hip hop and R&B, their vocal stylings have something to offer most music lovers. Add their bundle of joy Blue Ivy Carter to that magical mix and the family is the picture of the American Dream. It was only fitting that Beyonce would first reveal her pregnancy at the MTV Music Awards.

It's no surprise that the Paris-hopping Blue is living it up. Jay-Z already told BFF Oprah Winfrey that he planned to give her all of the creature comforts. Although a supporter, Winfrey is not Blue's godmother as was first rumored upon her birth. Carter appeared on the OWN Network's "Oprah's Master Class: Special Edition." Jay confessed of his daughter that, "At the end of the day, I just know I'll probably have the worst, spoiled little kid ever."

We think that Jay and Bey will be great parents. Although Beyonce grew up with two loving parents, Jay-Z had a fatherless upbringing. The hip hop star is now estimated to be worth $460 million. His wife is no slouch herself. It will be interesting to watch their little girl become who she is meant to be.

So, what do you think of Jay-Z's latest ode to Blue Ivy? Is it healthy to talk about a baby's life in such materialistic terms or is it aspirational for fans?
