Jay Mohr is moving to Suburgatory.

The Ghost Whisperer and Gary Unmarried actor has landed a major recurring role on ABC's new comedy, TVGuide.com has confirmed. In the series, New York architect George Altman (Jeremy Sisto) relocates to the suburbs where he hopes to give his 16-year-old daughter Tessa (newcomer Jane Levy) a more wholesome upbringing. They encounter a range of overly buffed, tucked and spray-tanned neighbors, including suburban housewife Dallas (Cheryl Hines).

Mohr, who will next appear in NBC's Prime Suspect, will play Steven Royce, Dallas' frequently absent husband. Royce models his life after two famous Donalds: Trump and Draper. While he's a shark when it comes to business, in his personal life, he's rarely home, which has inspired his and Dallas' tacitly open relationship.

Mohr will first appear in the Halloween episode, shooting this week and slated to air in late October. Suburgatory premieres Wednesday, Sept. 28 at 8:30/7:30c.
