It's official! Hugh Hefner and Crystal Harris are giving marriage another shot.

The lovebirds stopped by a Beverly Hills courthouse on Tuesday, where they picked up their official marriage license. Looks like they'll have something extra special to celebrate this holiday season!

On Friday, TMZ reported that the Playboy mogul and his much younger girlfriend will tie the knot in a small ceremony on New Year's Eve. The wedding will reportedly take place at the Playboy mansion, with only close friends and family members in attendance.

Though the couple have not discussed their plans, Harris fueled speculation with a cryptic tweet. On Friday, the 26-year-old posted, "Dear past, thank you for all the lessons. Dear future, I'm ready." Hefner, 86, immediately retweeted her.

While we wait for details on the impending nuptials, here's a look back at the pair's turbulent relationship.

December 24, 2010

Hefner proposed with a three-carat, diamond-and-platinum ring. Harris said her husband-to-be slipped the ring inside a music box, wound it up, and told her to open it.

With the wedding date set for June 18, the couple revealed their invitations and asked that guests donate to charity in lieu of giving gifts. Hef said, "It was actually Crystal's suggestion and I thought it was a great idea."

Just four days before the wedding, Crystal got cold feet and the two parted ways. Heartbroken, Hef tweeted, "The wedding is off. Crystal has had a change of heart."

In a show of unquestionably poor taste, Harris spent her would-have-been wedding day at a Las Vegas pool party. "I'm doing OK," she said, when asked how she was holding up. "Today is the day, and I just had to get away."

Calling Playmate Anna Sophia Berglund his "new best girl," Hefner appeared to have replaced his erstwhile bride. Harris, who is friends with Berglund, shot down rumors of a relationship, tweeting "She's just over there regulating making sure Hef ends up with a good girl."

June 27, 2011

Putting his best foot forward, Hefner announced that he'd moved on from Crystal with new girlfriend Shera Bechard. He shared the news via Twitter, saying "Shera is both our November 2011 Playmate & my new girlfriend."

July 2011

Playboy issued "runaway bride" stickers for the cover of their July 2011 issue, which featured the headline, "Introducing Mrs. Crystal Hefner."

July 26, 2011

Harris took a cheap shot at Hefner, opening up about their sex life during an interview with Howard Stern. Saying that "[It lasted] like, two seconds," Crystal added that she was "over it" and that she was "not turned on by Hef."

December 2011

The former lovers got in a custody fight over their beloved Cavalier King Charles puppy, Charlie. Though Crystal took the dog when she moved out of the mansion, Hef said, "I told her if she wants to keep the ring and the Bentley, then maybe I can keep the puppy."

June 1, 2012

Harris and Hefner both confirmed that their relationship was back on. Crystal tweeted, "Yes @hughhefner and I are back together. Yes I am his #1 girl again. Yes we are happy."

Multiple sources reported that the pair were again engaged and ready to give marriage another shot.

December 4, 2012

The couple filed for a marriage license in Beverly Hills, confirming that the wedding is indeed back on.

What do you think? Will the Crystal and Hugh make it down the aisle this time?
