Hotspots: NPH, Jason Segel's Fave Mexican Spot

What do Kourtney Kardashian, Zoe Saldana, Megan Fox and Neil Patrick Harris have in common? Well, other than being ridiculously good looking, they are just some of Hollywood’s most fabulous stars who have wined and dined at West Hollywood’s new hotspot Rosa Mexicano. Although new to the swanky L.A. neighborhood, Rosa Mexicano has been a New York City staple since 1984 and now 14 locations around the country. With DJs spinning clubby hits on weekends, mouthwatering drinks like pomegranate margaritas and gourmet tacos, Rosa Mexicano is upscale Mexican to the max. If you are looking for a sophisticated dinner where your classic Mexican favorites are fused with modern cuisine, then you have arrived.

Must Haves:
Guacamole en Molcajete – One of their biggest hits. They make the gauc right at your table. It’s so fresh and light you won’t ever want to stop eating – and with a mountain-sized portion, you won’t have to anytime soon.

Sopa de Tortilla – With a kick of cinnamon added, their tortilla soup gives you the classic tortilla soup taste with a subtle twist.

Empanadas de Jaiba – The fried crab meat empanadas are like a carnival in your mouth. Add mango salsa into the mix and you send your mouth on a ride better than the Tilt-O-Whirl.

Queso Fundido – More like queso fun-in-your-mouth-o! You’ll wanna dip your chips in this cheese swimming pool as many times as possible. *Tip* Get it with chorizo, you won't be sorry.

Budin de Pollo - With layers of white meat chicken, chiles, corn tortillas and cheese, the Budin de Pollo is Rosa Mexicano's take on the lasagna. And I could not get enough of these layers-upon-layers of chicken-filled, cheesy tortilla goodness. When I think about my meal at Rosa Mexicano this dish is what makes my mouth water. I want it again. And again. And again.

Carne Asada Tacos: Being from LA, where I am used to delicious $2 tacos on practically every corner, I was a little weary about ordering a $23 plate of tacos. However, the grilled skirt steak marinated with guagjillo and pasilla chiles, garlic, cumin and black pepper does not disappoint. With robust flavors and bold tastes, the carne asada tacos were the biggest hit of the night.

Insider Tip: While the restaurant is a Mexican eatery, it’s no laid-back taco stand. Spying the scene, it’s clear that groups of attractive men and women stop in to the festive eatery to start their night on the glittering town – so definitely dress to impress. And with celeb clientele, you never know where your margarita-filled night will take you.
