Honey Boo Boo joins Jon Gosselin in the world of reality show tragedies.

Honey Boo Boo's fifteen minutes of fame are just about up, folks.

Alana a.k.a Honey Boo Boo, the breakout seven-year-old star of "Toddlers & Tiaras" on TLC, has her own spin-off show "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo." This week, the third week on the network, TLC has reported the show had an all time high of ratings, reaching 2.3 million viewers.

While people might have thought the ridiculously loud mouthed kid with her special go-go juice and tummy rolls in a classic redneck family were funny at first, many people are realizing it just isn't funny anymore.

Critics of the show regularly have discussed the exploitation of Alana and her obese family wondering when the show's viewers will stop seeing Honey Boo Boo as a spectacle to watch but rather as a sad and soul crushing reality of what our society produces and promotes in entertainment.

Will Honey Boo Boo's TV fame continue to rise or will it slowly fade out like so many other reality stars have experienced?

Here are other reality stars with short lived fame.

Heidi and Spencer Pratt

When Heidi Montag joined the cast of "The Hills" in 2006 we saw her as a fresh-faced cute blonde who was a little bit more irresponsible and free-flowing than the show's star Lauren Conrad. Heidi eventually met Spencer Pratt and within a year the two were one of the strangest couples on reality TV.

Once the show was canceled Heidi and Spencer, now married, revealed they were homeless and broke. They thought "The Hills" had at least another five years on screen and the couple blew threw the $10 million they had made. Their fame lasted a few years but shortly fizzled out after a variety of staged public embarrassments.

Jon Gosselin

Although TLC may have called Alana and her family "America's favorite family" this week they should take a lesson from Jon Gosselin - sometimes being America's favorite family isn't all that it's cracked up to be.

"Jon and Kate Plus 8" was at one time one of the most popular shows on TLC but after Kate and Jon's ugly public divorce Jon's fame quickly died out and he was forced to take odd jobs to pay the bills, including working as a DJ.

What other failed reality stars should Honey Boo Boo and her family take lessons from?
