The usually flawless Kellan Lutz inexplicably fugged up his look at the recent launch of his Dylan George and Abbot + Main Spring '12 Collections at Bloomingdale's in New York, where he covered up a perfectly good head of hair with the cringe-worthy hipster accessory.

But Kellan is nowhere near as bad as repeat offender Zac Efron, who showed up at the premiere of Watchmen looking like a wannabe Jared Leto ... a dude absolutely nobody should be emulating.

And yes, I can understand that not all Hollywood guys are that into grooming but let's get real -- it's not like these two are casually wearing a beanie to cover up a late night or are just being lazy ... it's that they're trying too damn hard.

We're talking about Kellan Lutz and Zac Efron for crying out loud -- the very definition of metrosexual!

But seriously guys, unless your hair line is approaching Jude Law/Nicolas Cage status, this hat is not flattering (or necessary) on anyone.
