According to reports, One Direction's Harry Styles has broken his silence about ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift.
In the group's upcoming film, "One Direction: This Is Us," the teen heartthrob allegedly complains about the pair's troubled relationship, calling Swift "a pain in the a**." The Daily Mail offered a recap of Styles' thoughts, and quotes the 19-year-old as saying "I haven't met a girl yet who I'd want to even think of getting serious with." Ouch.
The "What Makes You Beautiful" singer is said to have mused, "I think I've been unlucky in love so far. But then, I haven't really met anyone who's made the earth move for me." While Styles has also dated well-known British celebrities Caroline Flack and Cara Delevigne, we can't help but wonder if his comments were directed at Swift, 23, since their breakup has been less than amicable.
The former couple hooked up briefly in early 2012, but split soon after. The pair were spotted together again in October 2012, following Swift's split with Conor Kennedy; they spent time together on both sides of the Atlantic before parting ways in January 2013.
Since the film isn't due for release until later this year, we'll have to wait a while for the full story. Nevertheless, with a long list of failed relationships on her resume, we have to wonder if, just maybe, Swift is a bit of a pain after all?
Any guy dating Taylor should consider himself warned, but it seems like Harry may have inspired some extra special songwriting hatred. Rumor has it, Swift's hit "I Knew You Were Trouble" was written after their first breakup, and fans are speculating that Styles inspired Taylor's current single, "22." In it, Swift sings, "Gonna give you what you gave to me... Make you so feel so B-A-D, break you, make you sorry. I hope you cry, I'm getting my R-E-V-E-N-G-E." She, uh, seems a little angry.
Who could forget Swift's performance of "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" at the 2013 Grammy Awards? During the sort-of talking interlude, Swift copped a fake British accent and said "I still love you," appearing to mock the UK-born Styles. She then added a flippant " I'm sorry, I'm busy opening the Grammys and we're never getting back together," to finish out the lines. Love the guy or hate the guy, making fun of his accent on national television is just low, Taylor.
She's a Diva
In case it makes Harry feel any better, Taylor's other exes are subjected to post-breakup pettiness as well. According to Us Weekly, singer John Mayer was scheduled to perform before Swift during the ACM Awards on April 7. Sources say Taylor was so annoyed at John's presence - and the fact that he was up first - that she complained and insisted she take the stage first. The songstress dated Mayer, 35, for a short while in 2010; most fans assume that her song, "Dear John" was written for him.
So what's next for Swift and Styles? The former flames both received numerous Billboard Music Award nominations, so they could be rubbing shoulders once again at the ceremony on May 19. Stay tuned!
