Hairspray Star Loses 60 Pounds
Hairspray's Marissa Jaret Winokur has been sporting quite the new look lately. The actress recently lost 60 lbs, she tells The Insider.
But Jaret Winokur says her dramatic weight loss wasn't a ploy to up her Hollywood star power or change her body for superficial reasons. She did it to improve her own well-being. "When I was a size 14, I was super happy," the Retired at 35 star explains. "The Doctor [was] saying I'm not healthy...so I need[ed] to change my way of life. But, interestingly enough, there are moments in my life [where] I felt more comfortable in that body sometimes than in this body."

Even though she's now a size 2, Jaret Winokur's still worried she isn't skinny enough for the industry. "I definitely have moments where I'll go to an audition or a meeting and girls are just so much skinnier," the actress says. "I'm still in Hollywood. I still will be considered a chubby actress."
Jaret Winokur also worries she won't be able to keep her new physique. Explaining why she has held on to her plus-size wardrobe, the actress says, "I'm sure I'll gain it all back. I know it's horrible, but here's the thing ... my fear is, what do you do? I have jeans that fit me great and what if I gain it back? I need those jeans."
