Gwyneth Paltrow regrets using Botox

Gwyneth Paltrow was placed at the top of People magazine's annual list of the most beautiful celebrities, which surely left some readers in shock -- after all, Gwyneth did recently beat out Chris Brown, Lindsay Lohan, Kim Kardashian, and Justin Bieber to be named the most hated celebrity.

The Gwyneth hate seems to stem from the elitist "Goop" lifestyle she tries to push. She recently shared the spring wardrobe essentials that she thinks that every woman should have in her closet, and the grand total of the clothing that she described as "casual" and "relaxed" was a whopping $458,003. It's safe to say that most women watching her movie "Iron Man 3" won't be wearing $865 Stella McCartney white jersey tops.

Gwyneth also came under fire recently because her "It's All Good" cookbook isn't so good for the pocketbook -- it promotes recipes that could easily cost $300 a day. Gwyneth touts her "elimination diet," but it would be interesting to see her eliminate the expensive items in her pantry to try to follow the diet that her ex Ben Affleck is trying to adhere to -- he's going to live on $1.50 a day for five days to raise money for charity. Somehow we don't think Gwyneth would survive since this is the same woman who thinks a $20 bag of gluten-free flour is a pantry staple, and she once said that she'd "rather smoke crack than eat cheese from a tin" and that she would "rather die than let my kid eat Cup-a-Soup."

Gwyneth is also the master of an extremely irritating move -- the humble brag. She's a pro at letting the world know just how great she is without directly pointing it out. During an interview with Self magazine, here's how she reminded the world of her Oscar win: "I feel a sisterhood emerging around me. I'm less threatening now that I'm 40 and not 26-with-an-Oscar."

And this is what she told Stylist about brunettes vs. blondes: "I don't understand the whole idea of blondes having more fun. I'd say brunettes have more fun as they can go under the radar a little bit more. People are just waiting for blondes to get drunk and fall down, because we're so visible." So she's saying that she gets more attention because she's not a boring ol' brunette.

During the opening of Tracy Anderson's flagship studio in L.A., Gwyneth bragged about how great her butt is by talking about a compliment that a pal gave her. According to Us Weekly, this is the conversation that Gwyn and a friend had about her butt: "I said, 'You know, this isn't so bad for 40, right?'" And [my friend] goes, 'It's not so bad for a 22-year-old stripper!'"

Gwyn even managed to do the humble-brag thing during her interview for People magazine's most beautiful issue by claiming that she usually just wears a "jeans and a T-shirt" around the house and that she doesn't really wear makeup. She just doesn't need all that Goopy stuff to be gorgeous.

However, she forgot to humble-brag while talking about whether her abs are better than Madonna's during an interview with She stated, "Why rub it in? Let's face it. I'll Polaroid my abs and text them to her."

And Gwyneth Paltrow is just generally good at saying things that grate on the nerves. While talking about how she spits out food during eating scenes, she told the Guardian this: "I'm sure there must have been eating scenes, especially playing a 330lb character in 'Shallow Hal,' but I don't remember that film well to be honest." There's no way she's forgotten donning a fat suit for that horrible movie -- it must have been a nightmare for the svelte star.

Gwyneth also says and does things that easily open her up to criticism. Saying that she hated Botox because it made her look like Joan Rivers probably wasn't the best idea since Gwyneth is trying to sell fashions on her Goop website and Joan is the host of a show titled "Fashion Police," and Gwyn was recently was accused of sexualizing children by selling bikinis aimed at little girls on the website. She's also been criticized for tweeting the n-word, and she said this about infidelity during an interview with Harper's Bazaar: "I have friends who I love and admire who have had an affair."

So do you think that Gwyneth Paltrow belongs on the most hated or most beautiful list, or is she really just somewhere between the two extremes?
