"Grey's Anatomy" star Sara Ramirez has taken the plunge!
The 36-year-old actress said "I do" to fiancé Ryan Debolt on July 4 in "an intimate ceremony in New York." According to the couple's rep, "the private event was attended by close family and friends."
Debolt, a business analyst, popped the question last June while the two were vacationing in Paris, France. A witness described the outdoor proposal, saying Debolt "came up next to her and kneeled…we just heard her saying, 'Oh my God! Oh my God! Oh my God!'" A tearful Ramirez then gave her fiancé "a big hug" and looked at her ring "several times."
Sara, who plays orthopedic surgeon Callie Torres on the ABC drama, has described Debolt as her "soul mate" and says the two are considering starting a family together.
Sara and Ryan aren't the only couple who have recently walked down the aisle. Here's a look at high-profile pairs that tied the knot this July.
Actress Ellie Kemper (32) wed fiancé Michael Koman in New York City on July 7. Kemper is known for playing Erin Hannon on "The Office" and Becca in the popular film "Bridesmaids." Koman is a writer, best known for his work on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" and the series "Eagleheart." The pair announced their engagement in December 2011 and plan to spend their honeymoon in France.
Travis Stork, former contestant on "The Bachelor" and current host of "The Doctors," married pediatrician Charlotte Brown earlier this month. Sources say the intimate ceremony took place at the Lodge and Spa at Cordillera in Edwards, Colorado, which is "very private and removed from people." The pair announced their engagement in May 2011 after dating for two years.
On July 7, Rep. Barney Frank (72) of Massachusetts married longtime partner Jim Ready (42), making Frank the country's first representative in a same-sex marriage. The couple's vows included the promise to love "in Congress or in retirement, under the Democrats or the Republicans, on MSNBC or on Fox." The pair met in 2005, and the ceremony was attended by the likes of Senator John Kerry and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi.
NFL wide receiver Chad Ochocinco (34) said "I do" to "Basketball Wives" star Evelyn Lozada (36) on July 4. The evening ceremony, which took place in Miami, was attended by family, friends, and crew from the VH1 reality show. The former "Dancing with the Stars" contestant popped the question in November 2010, giving his bride-to-be a massive 10-carat diamond ring. During the wedding, the confused groom posed a question to his Twitter followers, asking "How many times is Eve gonna change outfits…is this normal to have more than 1 outfit besides the wedding gown?" Hang in there, bro.
Congratulations to the newlyweds! We wish you a lifetime of happiness and marital bliss!
