Lady Gaga always makes a red carpet statement at the Grammys.

The Grammy Awards are known for their outrageous fashion. Celebrities often choose clothes that might not work on other red carpets but mesh well with music's biggest night. While many stars' choices don't work, the following artists have taken big fashion risks and looked fabulous:

Jennifer Lopez

In a jaw-dropping Versace gown, the "American Idol" judge wowed everyone at the 2000 Grammy Awards. The dress, considered a huge risk at the time, still generates look-a-likes. Few look as good as Jennifer did then or, despite over a decade having passed and now being the proud mom of two children, does now. The dress was so outrageously awesome that it is still being talked about! [Picture here.]

Lady Gaga

Always wearing crazy over-the-top fashion, the Grammy Awards are one place the "Born This Way" songstress fits. In 2010, Lady Gaga wore a custom Giorgio Armani Prive gown. She looked amazing in the unique creation that had an intergalactic feel. [Picture here.] The following year, Gaga veered into the extremely strange, even for her. She arrived inside of an egg and was carried into the ceremony.

Nicki Minaj

Another artist known for her crazy clothing choices, Nicki hasn't disappointed on this red carpet. Demonstrating absolute commitment to her look in 2011, the rapper was literally decked out from head to toe in Givenchy leopard print. [Picture here.]

Rihanna pushes the envelope with extremely sexually suggestive material, so its no surprise that her fashion choices have also been considered risky. In 2011, the "Talk the Talk" voice wore a gown that went from a mid-level neckline to the floor. The in-between just included a lot of sheer fabric. Although some critics compared the dress to Christmas garland, Rihanna looked beautiful in the revealing Jean Paul Gaultier gown. [Picture here.]

Katy Perry

The "Teenage Dream" singer played up her ultra-feminine looks in an angel inspired get-up in 2011. While the extra-long train and wings were too much for some fans, the jewel-encrusted top and pretty make-up made the look work. Which celebrities will wear the most outrageous outfits this year?
