Reese Witherspoon, Claire Danes, Giuliana Rancic, and Sarah Michelle Gellar all welcomed babies after …

It's been a huge year for Hollywood baby news, with quite a few actresses expanding their families or becoming first-time moms. Five leading ladies walked the red carpet at the 69th Golden Globe awards and went on to welcome little ones just a few months later. Here's a look at last year's attendees who received brand new bundles of joy prior to this year's ceremony.

Reese Witherspoon

After saying "I do" to Jim Toth in March 2011, actress Reese Witherspoon attended the 2012 Golden Globe awards as a presenter, where she introduced the film "The Descendants." Turning heads with her scarlet Zac Posen mermaid gown and tousled blonde waves, the newlywed mother of two looked happy and confident as she walked the red carpet. Just nine months later, Reese and Jim welcomed their first child together, with son Tennessee James arriving on September 27.

Sarah Michelle Gellar

"Ringer" star Sarah Michelle Gellar was also on-hand to present, handing out the award for Best Supporting Actor in a Series, Miniseries or Television Film. Turns out, the 35-year-old had some unexpected help picking out her dress, and it was actually her daughter Charlotte who decided on the blue and white strapless ballgown by Monique Lhuillier. Gellar wed her "I Know What You Did Last Summer" co-star Freddie Prinze, Jr. in September 2002. Charlotte was born in September 2009, and their second child, a son named Rocky James, arrived in September 2012, just nine months after Gellar's big red carpet moment.

Claire Danes

Actress Claire Danes took home the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Television Series Drama thanks to her outstanding performance as Carrie Mathison in "Homeland." The 33-year-old selected a black and white embellished J. Mendel gown for her big evening, completing the look with bright red lips and Bulgari jewels. Danes tied the knot with actor Hugh Dancy in 2009, and they welcomed their first child, a baby boy named Cyrus Michael Christopher, in December 2012. Claire is nominated in the same category again this year, so we're looking forward to seeing the new mom on this year's red carpet!

Giuliana Rancic

Red carpet host Giuliana Rancic actually wore two different dresses for the evening, the second of which was a stunning cream-colored Basil Soda gown with a high neck and unique ridge detail. The appearance was extra special for the 38-year-old, who was recovering from a grueling battle with breast cancer and a double mastectomy. The "Fashion Police" panelist wed "Apprentice" winner Bill Rancic in 2007, and for years the two struggled to become parents. When Giuliana's cancer caused an additional setback, the pair turned to a gestational surrogate in order to conceive. In August 2012, the couple welcomed their long-awaited son, Edward Duke Rancic. We can't wait to catch up with the new mom - and the people she interviews - at this year's awards ceremony.

Charlize Theron

Nominated for her performance in the film "Young Adult," Charlize Theron turned heads with her jaw-dropping red carpet look. The 37-year-old opted for a blush-colored Dior Haute Couture gown that featured a plunging V-neck and a thigh-high slit. She completed the vintage look with a diamond-encrusted headband, Cartier jewels, and matching strappy heels. Just two months later, Theron took on a different sort of role - motherhood - and adopted a baby boy named Jackson.
