Got to love it (or hate it), celebrities have the best access to the best of everything! The best stylists, the most fabulous wardrobe and an incredible bod squad to help with their every beauty & fitness need!
Now, meet one of the star's favorite facialist, Joanna Vargas, who also created her own signature skincare line. Naomi Watts, Julianne Moore, Rachel Weiz and Emma Stone all Vargas girls. And, they're all big fans of her signature treatment, The Triple Crown Facial.
This anti-aging treatment is known as a 'workout for the face' and helps to tighten, tone and re-sculpt your face so that your cheekbones pop.
Glam Slam got invite to try this celebrity fave and with the promised results of a renewed complexion, how could I turn it down?
"I use a mild electric current to drain puffiness, tone muscle and tighten skin. There is no downtime, people love the instant effect and long term; the effects are cumulative. I usually recommend this facial once a month," explains Vargas.
Getting a facial with Joanna is like spending time with a friend. She's super laid-back, chatty and it's easy to see why the stars trust her! There are no airs of an in-demand of fashion diva here!
As for the actual facial, it's a pretty simple procedure. She first cleans and exfoliates skin with her diamond peel. Then, she uses a two-prong micro-current device which 'delivers precise dosage of energy to the skin, while gently erasing signs of aging in the top layer of the skin.'
She moves the microcurrent all over your face, around your eyes and along your jawline. It doesn't really feel like much. When she's completed one side of your face she lets you view the results. And, I must say comparing the before and after sides of my face did show a remarkable difference. For instance, my skin looked smoother and my cheekbones were more pronounced. I like!
"Microcurrent facials increase production of collagen by up to 14 percent, elastin increase by 48 percent, and blood circulation increases by 38 percent. The cumulative result is much like going to the gym - tighter muscles, more lift at the jaw and cheekbone," added Joanna.
After this part of the treatment, she finishes off with oxygen, which Joanna says, "It gives anyone an instant glow and gives the skin a much needed boost."
While, I absolutely loved my treatment, I doubt I will get the opportunity to get in to see Joanna again. She's booked months in advance and it is pretty costly. But, she did offer a few tips to get the glow at home, revealing, "Elasticity and youthful skin is all dependent on anti-oxidants and exfoliation. Proper cell turnover stimulated by the right exfoliant is key as is using products with anti-oxidants like Acai berry (found in my Vitamin C Face Wash) and argan oil (found in my Rejuvenating Serum).
