At a luncheon over the summer, I met a real go-getter named Christina Zilber, whom I learned is the Founder and Creative Director of Jouer cosmetics.

I instantly liked Christina and it was so awesome talking "shop" with her, and I went to town asking her things like what colors she felt would look good on me.

I am not the only one around here who is a fan of Christina and Jouer. Her line's famous devotees are a real Hollywood Who's Who, including Gwen Stefani, Anne Hathaway, Selena Gomez and Amy Adams, who often wears the brand as part of her red carpet looks.

"I have always loved Amy's look, as she goes from girl next door to movie star in an instant, and this was one of my favorites of all time!" he says. "To start, I used Tarte's Amazonian Clay 12 hour Foundation with a wet sponge. Using a wet sponge dilutes the product and puts a light blanket on the skin leaving it looking healthy and fresh.

Next I moved to the eyes. I always like to begin by using a champagne-y color on the lid as a blank canvas. Lately I have been using NARS Miss Liberty, which has a gentle sparkle to it that reflects and warms the skin. At the lash line I used Votre Vu's Aubergine, an eggplant/brown color. I then brushed Jouer's Bordeaux Powder Eyeshadow, another sheeny eggplant shade, all over the lid blending out the pencil line and deepening the eye. In the outer corners of the eyes I tapped MAC's Shadowy Lady, a deep dark purple color, with a straight brush darkening the lash line and drawing the eyes outward. In the inner corners I used Jouer's Highlighter in Feather. This product reflects beautifully and always brightens up the eye in pictures. Underneath the bottom lashes I used a golden brown from Tarte's Call of the Wild palette in Jungle, which has enough gold in it to bring out all the colors of anyone's eyes. I finished the eyes with two coats of Benefit's Get Bent Mascara.

On Amy's cheeks I used Jouer Mineral Powder Blush in Rose. With a navy dress I wanted a pink flush coloring not oranges or reds. On top of that I used a paler pink, MAC's Flower Mist Dew. I often like two different colors on the cheeks - one deeper color to accent the shadow of the cheek bone and one softer connecting blush for the apples to the nose so that the blush color doesn't just stop abruptly.

I wanted the lip to show up and also have a bit of pink without overshadowing the eye, so I selected one of my favorites: Jouer Hydrating Lipstick in Meredith. It reads beautifully."
