Just one month shy of his 20th birthday, Tyler James Williams has a new show premiering on TV. When "Go On" debuts on September 11, fans of "Everybody Hates Chris" will be introduced to a more mature, but equally funny version of the actor. Here are five things you need to know about Tyler James Williams.

He Grew Up on 'Sesame Street'

Although he started acting when he was just four years old, Williams landed his first steady gig on "Sesame Street" in 2000. He would appear on the show for five years. But it was the lead role in the Chris Rock-inspired sitcom "Everybody Hates Chris" that would make Tyler a big star.

He Was a Very Young Winner

In 2007 Williams took home the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actor in a Comedy Series. He was just 14 years old when he scored the honor, making him the youngest winner in the category in history. He beat out some very grown up competition - Duane Martin from "All of Us," Bernie Mac from "The Bernie Mac Show," George Lopez-"The George Lopez Show" and Donald Faison from "Scrubs."

He Can Rap, Too

In this summer's Disney movie "Let It Shine," Williams played Cyrus DeBarge, who writes a hit song, which mistakenly gets credited to his best friend. Williams, who has been writing songs since he was about 13, was able to finally show his musical side in the project. As he told Celeberity Profile Ent in a red carpet interview that the rap songs in "Let It Shine would be "the first time that people can see what I can do lyrically."

Being a Child Star Can Pay Off - Big Time

In 2010 Williams was number eight on the M Magazine Ten Richest Teen Celebrity list. Thanks to his role on "Everybody Hates Chris" and a few other gigs, Williams had an estimated worth of $4.8 million. As impressive as that might sound, it pales in comparison to the year's number one earner. Miley Cyrus topped the list with a total of $120 million due in large part to her role on "Hannah Montana."

He Gave His Younger Brother Advice from the Future

Tyler's younger brother has followed in his footsteps. Tyrel Jackson Williams is one of the stars of the sitcom "Lab Rats." In fact Tyler played a future version of Tyrel in a June episode of the Disney XD series. In the special installment, future Leo reveals what's in store for him on an upcoming mission and shows him how to be cool - something that the older brother has done in real life, too.

Watch Tyler James Williams when "Go On" premieres on Tuesday, September 11 at 9 p.m. EST/8 p.m. Central on NBC.
