In this first look photo from The Place Beyond the Pines, you see Gosling's character Luke, a professional motorcycle rider who turns to bank robberies to support his newborn son.
What you don't see is Bradley Cooper's character, a rookie cop who ignites a feud with Luke following a violent confrontation (potentially over a dye-job joke).
Pines, which co-stars Rose Byrne, Ray Liotta and Eva Mendes, will debut at the Toronto International Film Festival in September.
