Lindsey Stirling is taking her dubstep violin talents to Maker Studios.
The musician has inked a deal with the multichannel network to manage her two YouTube channels, which have nearly 5.6 million collective subscribers. Stirling was previously signed with Fullscreen.
Disney-owned Maker, which operates a YouTube network with more than 450 million subscribers, will also help Stirling optimize and monetize her content and will provide production resources at its Culver City studio. In addition, the MCN will represent her YouTube channels on social media. Maker also works with YouTubers such as Felix Kjellberg, a video gamer who goes by the name PewDiePie, and producer Mike Tompkins.
"Maker is extremely proactive and creative with their talent," said Stirling. "They seem to have mastered the difficult task of giving attention to their smaller, growing channels while still being able to add value to their larger established channels &mdash plus, with this partnership, I am one step closer to becoming a Disney princess!"
Stirling, a classically trained violinist, appeared on America's Got Talent in 2007 and placed fifth. That same year she joined YouTube and amassed a large following. Her self-titled debut album has sold more than 350,000 copies in the United States and reached No. 1 on both the Billboard Dance/Electronic and Classical Album charts. Sophomore album Shatter Me debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. Her recent European tour sold out and she is now touring the United States.
