Dr. Oz is going to be a grandpa! The heart surgeon turned TV personality's eldest daughter, The Chew co-host Daphne Oz, is pregnant with her first child, she announced during a taping of her show's season premiere on Thursday, Sept. 5.
The news came as a surprise even to the 27-year-old mom-to-be's fellow Chew co-hosts Mario Batali, Michael Symon, Clinton Kelly, and Carla Hall. According to the Washington Post, she began by talking about a summer trip she had taken to Europe with husband John Jovanovic and then said she wanted to show a picture.
Instead of a photo of the European countryside, however, she pulled out a strip of three sonogram images. (The episode is set to air on Monday, Sept. 9.)
This will be the first child for Oz and her spouse of three years, as well as the first grandchild for Mehmet Oz and his wife, Lisa. The grandparents-to-be also have three other kids, Arabella, Zoe, and Oliver.
