Clay Aiken hinted on Monday he could use some "shuttle diplomacy" and broker a peace between his pal Rosie O'Donnell and his "Celebrity Apprentice" boss Donald Trump. But, on Tuesday afternoon, the singer was backing away from that idea.

"I didn't try to broker it. I said... I'm going to try the Israelis and the Palestinians first and if that works, then I'll give it a shot," Clay told Access Hollywood Correspondent Jill Martin, as Trump stood by his side.

And Trump took a surprising turn, telling Access there is no need for Clay to smooth things over between the two celebrities.

"Well look, I have nothing with Rosie, Rosie's fun," Trump said.

"I couldn't care less," Trump added. "I don't think about Rosie. You bring it up. Why does everybody always bring it up?"

When Jill pointed out that Trump's recent Tweet about Rosie's "The Rosie Show" cancellation on the Oprah Winfrey Network, might be a reason, he touched on the subject once again.

"Her show failed, but I told people that it was going to fail long before it went on. But Rosie's fine," he added. "I wish her well. May she rest in peace."

In related Trump talk, the businessman owns a building that Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez lives in and when Jill asked about the introduction of Tim Tebow to the team, the "Celebrity Apprentice" boss said he doesn't expect a feud.

"We all like Tim, and Mark likes Tim, so it's going to be very interesting, but as you know, Mark is their starting quarterback," Trump said. "He's done a really good job. He's a young quarterback and I think he'll continue to do a very good job."

When asked for his advice to Mark, who the Jets have said is No. 1 to Tebow's No. 2, the businessman said success is key.

"Mark has to play well. Tim's a great player and maybe he can be used in a different position. Who knows?" Trump said. "He's an amazing athlete, but I think Mark and Tim will get along very well."
