Dina Lohan gives advice to Amanda Bynes’ parents

Lindsay Lohan may be judgmental about Amanda Bynes and her recent troubles with the law, but her mother has compassion for the actress’ loved ones. In a new interview with “Entertainment Tonight” that will air on Thursday, Dina Lohan doles out some advice to Bynes’ reportedly estranged parents – because, after all, her daughter turned out so well.

"You know, I'm a mother, and I feel that that's for her mother to speak about, and not me, because people have spoken for my child and myself, so I really feel that's for her parents to discuss and Amanda herself," says Dina … who then goes on to give the Bynes family advice anyway. "Just be around … It's hard when your daughter's not, you know, over 18, and you want to let them go … and they want to, you know, feel like they're in control of themselves. So it's a very strategic place for a parent to be, but she'll be ok."

From the looks of it, this interview went a lot better than the one Dina had with Dr. Phil McGraw, which aired earlier this month. During the hour-long cringe fest, the 50-year-old appeared out of it, slurring her words, making nonsensical statements, and sitting slumped over on the armrest of the sofa. As for talk that she was drunk or under the influence, Dina tells “ET,” “I was absolutely not under, intoxicated, or on any kind of medication. I was extremely upset."
