LeAnn Rimes called a Twitter truce with her fiance's ex-wife, Brandi Glanville.

LeAnn Rimes used her just-released album, "Spitfire," as a way to rid herself of all the drama surrounding her affair with the then-married Eddie Cibrian.

"It was the elephant in the room; I had to talk about it," the 30-year-old told US Weekly of songs on the album. "There's no glamorizing the situation. I was disgusted with myself and thought I was pathetic. But now that I'm on the other side, I'm proud of who I am."

It seems like the country crooner wanted to take advantage of her notoriety to boost album sales, though it didn't really work. "Spitfire" debuted on the Billboard charts at number 36 with only 10,798 copies sold in the first week. As a comparison, Queens of the Stone Age debuted at number 1 with 91,000 copies of their new album sold.

Does this mean that the age-old formula of "scandal = big sales" is no longer true? Not at all: former "Teen Mom" star Farrah Abraham managed to extend her 15 minutes of fame earlier this year when she released a sex tape with porn star James Deen. "Farrah Abraham Superstar: Backdoor Teen Mom" reportedly earned the Iowa native a six-figure payday and a new reality show deal.

"Get ready for better TV :) The News Is True," she tweeted in May.

The production company behind the new show also announced the partnership on their Facebook page.

"MAJOR NEWS!!! Spinboi Films has signed Teen Mom Farrah Abraham to develop a new reality docu-soap! TV magic coming soon!"

No word on how much she'll be paid for the new gig.

Kim Kardashian might be a reality mogul/clothing designer/mom-to-be now, but she also got her (now-notorious) "break" in the industry with her sex tape with then-boyfriend Ray J, "Kim Kardashian: Superstar."

She's trying to get away from her association with the tape, though it's largely responsible for making her into the household name she is today.

"You know, I think that's how I was definitely introduced to the world," the 32-year-old Kardashian told Oprah Winfrey in 2012. "It was a negative way, so I felt like I really had to work 10 times harder to get people to see the real me."

So, it seems like fans are more interested in getting their celeb dirt from a sex tape, rather than from songs on an album.

Rimes isn't worried about her spot on the charts.

"Weekly Register LeAnn Rimes was this week's sole Top 10 country debut coming in with Spitfire at No. 9 and almost 11k units (54% digital)," she tweeted, along with a heart emoticon.
