With his good looks and singing talent, Dez Duron likely could have won over the judges easily on another reality television singing competition, but he revealed to Access Hollywood Live's Billy Bush and Kit Hoover exactly why he auditioned for "The Voice" for a second time this season.

"I think I just wanted to be judged solely on my voice and I just wanna be the best artist I can be," the singer said on Tuesday.

And the coaches - Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Blake Shelton and Adam Levine - were also a selling point.

"It really came down to those four judges, I wanted to work with one of those four judges," he said.

Dez is on Christina's team and he said he picked her as his coach because of her talents and their connection.

"Is there a better singer [than Christina]? She's amazing," he said. "I really feel like she gets me."

Dez cut short his college career at Yale to participate in "The Voice," but he revealed the Ivy League school was supportive

"I can go back and finish my degree," he told Billy and Kit. "I met with [my] dean and she said, 'You gotta take this opportunity or else you're gonna wonder your whole life, what if?'"

Less immediately sold on the idea were Dez's folks, but they came around.

"My parents were a little bit upset [I left school], but they support me. All I've ever wanted to do is sing and they knew that," he said.

"The Voice" continues Tuesday at 8/7c on NBC.
